What Makes A Hero: Essay

What is a Hero? Superman, Iron Man and The Flash have all been celebrated as true heroes for the past century. But have we stopped to consider what antiquates means? Certain qualities are characteristic of heroes that transcend time. A hero is someone who has more skills and talents than the average person, overcomes obstacles, and raises hopes for the rest of us. But heroes also have to reflect society norms and culture as well as technology. For example, a Greek hero didn’t have the superpowers of Superman due to a lack of technology. Superman needed to fly because man in the 20th Century had planes. The Judeo-Christian Western idea of martyrdom means that other heroes will be willing to sacrifice themselves. Although the functions and nature of a hero’s abilities and capabilities may change in nature and extent, they still remain true to their core concepts. The norms that a society has for heroes and their sociological contexts are reflected in the concept of a heroic figure. It is possible to have different ideas about what a hero looks like depending on culture, society and year. What makes a hero? This is my main topic.

Heroes are more symbolic than real people. As the Greeks did for Achilles, Jason and Perseus in Greece, we carry them around with us to show the world that we appreciate them. We pick them based upon our collective ideals and upbringing. We reward people for their achievements and place them in a higher position than ourselves. When someone is elevated to a higher status, they become a focal point for many people and are the object of endless gossip. Heroes are able to do things that are not possible for the average man. This was because heroes in Ancient Greece were called “demi-gods”. They would win glory and honor by performing difficult feats or going on quests. Achilles was “godlike”, with his fighting skills. Achilles was the Achaean warrior who was both half-god and halfmortal. Achilles is a classic Greek mythical Greek hero. Today, heroes from Greece still have an influence on us today. Superman is inspired by Achilles. Our heroes have been able to adapt to changing times and our world. Technology changed our notions of heroics. A man could fly high in the sky with a piece made of metal. Then a hero should be able to cross the globe and save others. Heroic abilities would be required if a man can kill someone using a gun with an average speed of 2,500 feet per sec. Technology has changed the meaning of human being and, therefore, the definition of a hero.

Every hero faces a challenge before they are truly heroic. Sometimes it was pride. One part of conquering the odds is to overcome your weaknesses. Achilles is concerned with his mortality while Superman is worried about Kryptonite, which can be used to make him human. These two heroes attempted to overcome their weaknesses, but failed. Achilles’ mother submerged him in the Styx to make it invincible. Superman tried to destroy the entire world’s kryptonite, but both failed. This shows that no one is perfect, not even the greatest heroes. Superman’s kryptonite use causes the death of Achilles and his mother Achilles. The underdog culture is what makes today’s heroes so great. We want people to believe that they can overcome all odds to become heroes.

A hero is someone who will sacrifice their life or something to help another person. They are selfless and will do anything for the greater good of others. This is why our semi-Christian culture and the modern concept of heroism, compassion and heroic traits come into play. This is the most common characteristic that people associate with heroes when they ask about them.

They put others last, which is why they are praised by our soldiers and civil service personnel. You put another person’s needs above your own. Although it isn’t a common trait, this is an example of Classical heroics. These are the traits and ideas that make a person more attractive to others. They give up their lives to make the world a better place, even if it means they have to sacrifice their own lives.

Courage can be something that no hero should ever live without. Courage to do something you have never done before. Courage to resist the system. Courage to achieve greater things. Courage is essential for heroes. It is what forces them to confront the things they fear. If a hero is to be brave enough to take on something they fear, then it is impossible to be a hero. Every act of heroism requires some kind of bravery. A soldier’s courage was a common symbol of Greek bravery and courage. These are the same values Homer believed in, and which were fundamental to the Greek way to live. Although not all heroic actions of heroes are heroic, they have a high status due to their example. The heroes of today are just like Odysseus or Achilles did for Greeks.

Wisdom is a quality that any hero, modern or ancient, has, regardless of whether it was born or acquired through past failures and mistakes. They are able to see the importance of doing the right thing. They can learn as much from others’ wisdom as we do. You can learn from the success and failures of others to stay strong no matter what happens in your life. Wisdom is the ability to make rational decisions based on their own knowledge. Wisdom is what made heroes see the differences between right & wrong. One of the reasons we look to them in times of trouble is that they understand and know these differences. They help us to see the bright side even when things seem darkest. Every society experiences difficulties such as wars, famines, diseases, and drought. Heroes remind us that there are always good people around the world.

Heroes show up when they’re needed. They offer hope for the future. We must take up the torch of the fallen and move forward to make the world better. They must fight now to avoid having to fight again. Other battles can be won in future to improve the world. They keep on going to ensure the safety of their loved ones and to help those in most dire need. Heroes, like the shield that Achilles represents, fight to keep hope alive and help us see a brighter tomorrow. Heroes are a source of hope in times when life seems darkest. Achilles fights the Trojans as the Greek forces are being decimated by them. He gives the Greek war veterans hope and gives them the motivation to fight for victory. Our heroes of today inspire us and give hope that we can get up again and try again, even when it is hard.

These heroes have transcendent qualities. Mythology is a common backbone for both classical and modern heroism. Heroes should be able do more than the usual and reach goals that others only dream of. Heroes rise above the odds and overcome adversity to achieve extraordinary feats. Human beings, they accomplish more than human feats and ideas. It is a lesson we all learn from them, but we often miss the qualities. Heroes must defeat all odds and overcome every obstacle that stands in their way. It can be overcoming their worst weaknesses or fighting against forces outside that tell them otherwise. There are many reasons that people can be heroes.

Essay on Jesus Christ: What makes a Hero?

Are heroes someone who fights against bad guys? Or someone who performs ordinary acts or kindnesses? Everyone has their own perspective of what it means to be a hero. A hero is someone who displays courage, selflessness and sacrifice. Jesus Christ is the one who exemplifies all of these qualities.

Jesus lived a life that was filled with many challenges and exhibited the above values. Jesus was courageous and courageous in his belief and sacrificed his life to spread the Good News. This essay will be based on Jesus Christ’s example.

There are many movies about heroes who bravely fight the evil characters. But, it doesn’t take winning battles to display courage. Jesus displayed his bravery multiple times by proclaiming the Good News despite the fact that it was against Roman rules. By healing a blind person on the Sabbath, Jesus violated the law. Blind people were cursed for their sins. People who had an association with them were considered as outcasts. Jesus didn’t let social beliefs affect his teaching. He was walking with his disciples when he saw a blind man and decided to heal him. He mentioned

“Neither this father nor his parents have ever sinned…” He said, then he spit out the dirt, mixed the saliva with some water, and placed the mud on the man. He advised him to “wash in The Pool of Siloam”. The man got up and went to the Pool of Siloam, washed his clothes and returned to his home. (John 9; 3-7)

Jesus displayed courage by healing the man. Jesus didn’t fear being punished for performing miracles. He refused to let God’s laws stop his work. His miracles later caused his death. He never gave up on his cause. Jesus, the Son of God, was brave and courageous. He stood firm in his beliefs and refused to be intimidated by fear.

John 15:13 states that Jesus gave his life in order to give us eternal life. His selflessness was one of his most prized qualities as a hero. Many heroes are courageous and brave, but don’t value being selfless. True heroes are those who fight for others’ good and give their life to save others. Jesus was the savior of humanity; he gave up his own life to help others. Jesus did not display any egotism throughout all of his life. Jesus never was selfish and served the greater purpose of his life. Jesus is a hero because he was selfless and gave his life to serve others.

Heroes are not portrayed as boastful or arrogant. They are self-effacing and humble. Jesus was a humble man who taught everyone that all people are equal before God. Jesus demonstrated his humility by washing the feet and wrapping a towel around each disciple. A hero should not be proud of their achievements or think they are better than others. A hero must be humble and be one with his people. For doing good deeds they are proud of, we don’t call them heroes. People who are silent in doing good deeds are the heroes we consider. Jesus was one such person, and he never brag about his miracles. He was humble and valued all those around him. Jesus is a true hero because of this.

Jesus is someone we all can call a true hero. His example and actions are an inspiration to all of us. Jesus demonstrated courage and bravery by standing up for the beliefs he held and not allowing himself to be challenged. Even though he knew the consequences, he spread the Good News and did miracles. Jesus is without a doubt the greatest example of selflessness in history. His selflessness was displayed by the sacrifice of his life in order to bring us eternal life. This is a vital quality for heroes, because they must be able and willing to sacrifice their lives for the good of others. Jesus was humble by not placing himself on top of others, but instead being equal with his people. Jesus is worthy by being called a Hero because of his actions. Jesus was a hero in all aspects of his life.
